Can the A99 steal my heart?

I,ve been knocking around doing an upgrade for the 77. The 99 was my first choice but after its release I started having second thoughts. While the sensor seemed to be great some of the other things just turned me off. The apc size af system led my list of dislikes. Followed by not being able to take advantage of the afd and the range limiter. The only two features that seemed to set it apart from the 77 and the nikcons .

i decided to changed systems. The more I looked at other systems the more I realized that I really liked some of my sony's feature most are tied to the EVF. What to do?

after much debat I thought hey I can rent a 99 and give a try. I found one online that I could rent for 200 bucks for a week. Not very long to evaluate a camers. I also while researching rentals I found a new one on eBay for 2400. This was about as low as I had seen new 99's. yep you guessed it I bought. I just thought at 2400 if I really don't like it I can sell and should be able to get back all but maybe 200 bucks. The rental cost. So one of my two camera are going to be for sale in the next month.

i have snapped about two hundred frame.

things I expected that came true. The camera is more chunky but could still be used as a walk around camera. It's high iso is way better, the jpg engine is better . Its not as snappy as the a77. It overall feel is still very good.

Things I didn't expect that came true. The small af doesn't seem to be that big of a deal so far. I haven't taken many pictures of anything that's moving. The af doesn't seem to be as fast in low light as the 77 in fact in struggles in low light. I must add although the 99 hunts more but once it finds focus its dead on where as the 77 misses in low light more often.The number one thing that I didn't expect the image quality is far better . I was surprised by this since both are 24 mp camers, but in what I have seen so far the 99 is superior by a wide margin At all iso's.

so witch one will I keep I really don't know. I'm leaning towards the 99 but still not sure it's good enough to offset the cost. It might be worth letting it go and butting the money back in the bank and see what Sony does next.
