I agree with the silver rating. I also agree when most publications are doing the right thing in at least mentioning Nikon's D600 dust/oil issue at least once. If you are a pro landscape shooter who spends most of the day maintaining gear as well as taking photos, cleaning the sensor is a non-issue. Write off any maintenance or repair issues as business expenses if you want. If you are a hobbyist however who just wants to take better quality photos I think the sensor cleaning is a big enough burden that will hurt brand image for Nikon to anyone adept enough to google. Have hard enough time to get to take photos, setting an extra 15 minutes of prep and clean time is difficult thing in this instant gratification expectations and a hectic lifestyle. Not to mention its going to turn off the gear-head who babies his gear and is the most likely to buy new camera's for no real good reason anyhow.
I think the high ISO performance is as legitimately advantageous as Nikon's shadow lifting as to cancel out a bit. The AF is also a wash simply because the D600 IMO is using the D7000's AF module which has not really garnered the best reputation in the first place, and the 6D although incredibly simplistic, tacks on -3EV onto an AF system that has always been crude but at least seems to work well, type of thing, etc.
I think the Canon is definitely going to be *consistently* cheaper than the Nikon...the Nikon will be worth the premium for sure once Nikon admits to and actually rectifies whatever issues they are keeping a tight lip on.
Really I still don't see *enough* to make me switch from a 5DMkII, but I see the 5DMkII at its current sales prices as a good buy, so why wouldn't I think the same for the 6D. The 5DMKII will hold me over for the 6DMKII.
Where did you get the idea that canon is consistently cheaper than the Nikon.
