Hi Anders,
I know your question wasn't directed at me, but I'll just add that I can see the swirling in live view when not recording. However, in my case, I can only see it when the image is magnified such as when using the manual focus assist. At this point, it is clearly visible in both the EVF and the rear screen.

Thanks Ken. Your answer to my question is of course more than welcome. It confirms what I would have guessed but helps eliminate some possibilities which in turn is important in order to pinpoint the cause of the problem. And even if it is clearly visible only in magnified view, it means the problem is there in live view too.
