Do you mean the Asus Zenbook UX32VD? I was pretty much set on getting this until I found this review: http://www.amazon.com/UX32VD-DH71-13-3-Inch-Laptop-Silver-Aluminum/product-reviews/B009AEYHGU/ref=cm_cr_dp_qt_hist_two?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addTwoStar&showViewpoints=0

What do you guys make of this?

Also, I found this Sony Vaio model that has similar specs to the Asus. Only negative I see is that the screen is glossy instead of matte. I might just jump on this one soon.

Yup, my subject missed the D but a link in the post has the right part number.

Interesting comments for sure.  His comment re upgrading to the SSD... well, just about every notebook thread I've read recently discusses dumping the standard or hybrid disc HD and popping a SSD in to max performance.

I'll have to go back to the stores and check out the display units to see just how bad the back light bleed is.  This model is a fave in a tech deals forum I follow and there has not been many complaints re the Win7 version of this model.  People did NOT like the previous generation due the difficulty of upgrading the RAM.

The one thing with the Sony model that I'd want to confirm is the sRGB coverage and if this model also suffers from "Orangegate". Their S series have only about 67% coverage and this Orangegate issue.
