You have two options 1). Clear 100% FX viewfinder with lines/frame for 1.2, 5:4, and DX areas. Option 2 is outside area grated out and only 1.2, 5:4, or DX area clear. Easy switch in menu.
Being lazy I guess - but how do you get the option 2 in the menu? I have already configured the Fn button + command dial to change the image area FX, 1.2, 5:4, DX.
It's controlled by the AF Point Illumination (a5) setting. You need to set it to OFF. Then, the viewfinder will be greyed out to indicate the crop areas. Regards. -iwbs
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone's had any further experience with this?
Am I correct in assuming you can still see which AF point you've selected but that it just doesn't illuminate?
Also any more general pros and cons you're finding if using the D800 a lot in the 1.2 crop mode.
Thanks.
