Little Egrets with A99 and Sony G 70-400

I am used to 5.5fps with focus tracking on my A580 so any more would be a bonus.

Given the 1.5x multiplier on the A77 would it be necessary to crop more on the A99 to get an equivalent image size and thereby lose some of the image quality from the A99.  As you can probably tell I'm having difficulty understanding how this relates.
