Thanks for the excellent responses. His primary point, was that he was caught a little by surprise on that day, under those circumstances. The G10 was able to approach the quality of the expensive outfit, whereas before then compact cameras couldn't come close.

To then conduct his (slightly tongue-in-cheek) experiment, was a risk. Had his invited guests all laughed him out of town and the press gleefully reported such an "upset", surely his business would have ended suffered as a consequence.

We are all armchair experts to some degree (except for Ren Kockwell of course! ;)), his experiment just adds proof that computer pixel-peeping can't substitute for viewing prints with our own analogue eyes and processor. Not even for the "pros" he tested it on.
