Three things for sure about ultra fast lenses: They are expensive, heavy and hard to focus. With the great ISO range of the D4, why would you want such a fast lens..just to show off to your friend?

Notice I did not say they are sharp because none of them are (at max aperture)

A lens that will go down as maybe the best ever made is a tiny Leica 50mm F2 APO Summicron..look it up, its quite amazing how "perfect"t this lens is. Many will be getting this lens over the Leica f.95 .

Now if you really want to show off to your friend, pre-order the new Zeiss 2/135 APO Sonar, this will be a world class lens.

Little note, I used to have a Canon 50mm f1.2 and the 85mm f1.2, one little "feature" they have is called focus shift . You can fine tune the hell out of your lens and it will not be in perfect focus because of this shift when it stops down. Also, you are not able to have more than two people in the image since DOF is a half eye ball...maybe like two eye lashes. I would not envy them much, aside from their skill if they can manage to get some good images with these hard to work with monsters.

Myself, I have a 50mm f1.4G, 85mm f1.4D, 70-200mm F2.8GvrII and Zeiss 2,8/15 2/25 and 2/100 on a D800E body.

That is my two cents.
