You can not get aliasing, nor can you get moire, with a single object like a twig. Neither can "jaggies" on a straight edge be called aliasing - although they are artifacts in their own special way.

So any object like a twig (or a star) that is in good contrast with it's surroundings will show up in the image, even it is less than one sensel at the image plane.

From the classic movie:

"What we have hyah is a failyah to communicate"

I actually agree with you but definition of moire and especially aliasing on this forum kinda moving target

You're quite right!

i tried to get moire and you have to hit spot exactly with dp2m it disappears rather quickly with changing of distance to object.

I've been doing the same thing with a SD10 and test targets today. It's quite hard to get moiré even with a Siemens Star type of target. It gets a lot easier with camera set to LO res. which makes the pixels effectively 18um. And the pattern changes a lot with different distances . .

Do you find the DP2M more difficult because of the smaller pixels?
