In future, apply the effect after shooting

Oh boy, I was playing with my RX100 in the hotel room and looking at the various Picture Effects. Pretty cool I thought. I think I left it in Illustration mode. Anycase, the next morning I went out to take some last pictures before leaving and forgot to turn it off. So while some of the Pictures are pretty cool, the effect isn't what I wanted.

1) I don't think there's a way to reverse that effect, but I thought that I would ask here just in case. Is there?

2) I noticed that some pictures had the Picture effect and some some didn't and I can't figure out why. Can someone explain why this might be the case? That is, I didn't take the Picture Effect off until much later and within that group of pictures I took you would see the effects on most pictures, but not all. I'm just curious.

Thanks. And for those who play with this Picture effect remember to turn it when done.

This way you won't have to worry about turning the effect off again. Just choose the shots you want to convert to watercolour, for instance, and go to the 2nd tab of the play menu and choose the effect you wish to apply. The other advantage of this approach is that you're left both with your original 'normal' image and your picture effect version...
