Is facial detection AF the best thing since sliced bread?

I've always struggled nailing focus on eyes. I blame it on my lack of technique as well as the large focus box.

As a self-respecting enthusiast, I was little hesitant to use this "consumer-oriented" feature at first, but I love it. Now I'm getting sharp eyes with clear reflections and everything.

Of course it focuses on a wrong person occassionally, just reframing and new half-press takes care of it.  It's worth it.
