Cone Inks on Laserjet A4 Paper

I purchased a ream of Xerox iGen3 DocuColor Colour Laser Copier Paper its 160gsm to 'waste' setting up my 3880 printer, Cone inks, and sort through the workflow for getting a colormunki profiling of both my Eizo and the printer.
My expectations were that this would be a fairly lengthy process, much trial and error and that the prints generated would be fairly low grade, and not up to the standard of Branded papers...in fact the second effort gave me an output that is astonishing! its really good.
I had previously always calibrated my Monitor with the X-rite i1, and Eizos own Colour Navigator. The munki made suggestions on luminence etc. which I followed. Result is I can't pick the difference. Given that the Munki is being compared with Colour Navigator I think that's pretty good.
My Printer profiles have always been purchased, so I printed a test image I had made previously on Canon Matt with a bought custom profile, and compared the two. Given the difference in paper weight and surface, I am more than pleased with the output on the laser paper.
Oh! and last, but not least I am using ConeK3 Vivid Magenta ink, and if it can make a print on Plain paper look so much like Canon paper, what is it going to do with Canson and Hahnemuhle. Well it so happens that I DO have an image I had made on Canson BFK Rives and it is not possible for me to pick the difference there either, except for texture...
I am NOT suggesting printing for display on this Plain paper AT ALL!!!, BUT what it will be MOST useful for is to 'proof' print, its a great little work horse and a great money saver for me because the end result is so much like the finished print on branded paper and the beauty is its A4, not tiny little bits of cut downs to 6 x 4!! I get a real life proof.
Printer settings for anyone wanting to give it a go:
Media type: Plain paper
Colour: Colour
Printer Quality: Quality
Mode: Custom (off, no colour adjustment)
Source: sheet
Size: A4
Lightroom is set at the profile I made and Matt, standard sharpening
This post is by way of a "Thank you" to Bob P and jtoolman" who got me up and running with the 3880 and 3rd party inks..
Many, MANY thanks fellas - appreciated
Andrew
