wait!!!  don't go.   you'll get pulled in to some fascinating discussions and see things you wouldn't think possible to capture with your camera.:-)

not familiar with your camera but have wrestled with night sky focus on my olympus. and in manual mode you might pass infinity (sounds weird).    it was explained to me that what infinity focus may be on a cold night may be different than on a hot night (minor expansion or contraction of the lens).    anyway,  i look for some brighter stars to focus on and have some captures of the moons around jupiter that i'm sort of happy with.    one shot of the space station but was time exposure so gave me an interesting pink arc.
