Video AF on a GH3

Hi,

I'm a Canon 5D mark11 owner and love the camera. I recently started to use it's video function esp. for my kids sports but found it very difficult to focus e.g. during a football game. I'm looking with interest at the GH3 and I'm intrigued by it's video specs. One question I have is it relies on Contrast Detection and Panasonics website shows a chart that says contrast is better than phase detection, but other sites etc. say otherwise. I'm looking for a camera that will allow me to video sports, baseball and football that will give me good AF etc. Does anybody here have any nput on this. I know there is no perfect AF but the GH3 looks good on paper.
