P7700 shutter priority query.

Hi All,

bought my P7700 and am busy playing with it.

On previous cams when using using shutter / aperture priority as you vary the shutter speed the aperture varies and there is some method of indicating that the camera can still select a suitable aperture. In the sequence below each shutter speed change was accompanied a few seconds later by the aperture number lighting up - the iso was fixed at 100

1/8 f2.0

1/6 f2.2

1/4 f2.8

1/2 f4.0

1   f5.0

1.6 f7.1

2 f8.0

2.5 f8.0

right the way through to

15s f8.0

Now clearly all the pairings from 2sec f2 to 15s sec f2 cannot be correct. Other than the fact that f8 1st appeared at 2sec I have no indication that the remaining pairing will not give a correct exposure. Had I gone straight to 15s I would have accepted the f8 as good.

I did not attempt to take any pics I was just playing with the controls.

I suppose the same will apply in manual how does the camera indicate your selection of speed and aperture is good.
