I look at these scenes and think that there's not a clear idea of what the subject really is other than "gee this is a nice scene". I think it needs to be more specific than that. Snow on a playset? Then show more playset, less playground. Interesting line of fence posts? Then show more fence posts, less chainlink fence. Play around with composition in the viewfinder until you get stronger abstracts, interesting backgrounds, fewer extraneous objects. Avoid dividing the frame in half with sky/foreground. Be careful to avoid turning negative space into dead space within the composition.
