This is a very important point overlooked by many.  It is treatable with a custom black frame subtraction, but the extra work is not insignificant.  With the time invested, it's possible to get some remarkable results at ISO25k with the D800.

LENR should be a full-time option on this camera.  It would be a straightforward firmware change.
