Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testifies on the attack on U.S facilities in Benghazi, Libya before the Senate Armed Services Committee Feb. 7, 2013 in Washington, D.C.:

"Panetta explained that “armed UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones), AC-130 gunships, or fixed-wing fighters with the associated tanking – you’ve got to provide air re-fueling-- armaments – you’ve got to arm all the weapons before you put the on the planes” -- were not in the vicinity of Libya.

There was a Navy carrier task group 300 miles away. They could have been there within an hour. There were USAF F-16's at Livorno, Italy. They could have been there within an hour.

What, and just shoot up the city of Benghazi? That's brilliant. How many innocent lives are you willing to end?

This is the most disgusting part. As usual our resident angry old men would have no problem biombing yet another sovereign country and kill its people, screw civilian collateral damage, screw sovereignty.

It wouldn't have worked anyway.

This arrogance is what creates enemies.
