You don't need to "grip" a tiny light camera like that. You hold it with a few fingers. I never had any problem shooting the Canon S90. I loved the tiny size. Hated the quality of the lens, but loved the size.
It's actually easier to hold than the S95...both great cameras...no it is not as easily held as the LX or G Series Cams for sure...but I took it to the Father Daughter dance last night and not a problem holding it on the dance floor even one handed I did ok...the adjustable flash saved the day dialed in at -1.0...
