Let me see now; you are looking at the Canon 5d MkII/III; the D600, the D7000 and what else?what can we tell about these cameras that will help you decide? Two of them (d7000, D600) are almost the same camera, but with different size sensors. The Canons are aimed at the same audience; the semi pro, pro, but one is an improvement over the other. The Nikon's are designed for the enthusiast. Don't be afraid of any of them. I believe as you, that you should get the best camera you can. I also believe, that the desire to learn, is more important, than the camera. For a motivated photographer, a so called entry level camera, is actually detrimental. So you have to ask yourself, am I motivated enough to learn this thing.
What do you need to know to make a decision?
