It's hard to tell exactly what you are after in a telephoto (maybe I just didn't read your OP carefully).

I used to have an E-PL2 and it is an outstanding camera -- I am constantly amazed at the quality of images I got with that camera.

If you are looking for optical speed, you are looking at legacy glass of some sort. However, manual focus and/or slow focus with 4/3's lenses tends to get old in a hurry for me -- it may not bother you.

However, if fast AF and good telephoto reach are important to you (more so than optical speed), then I would really suggest you consider the Oly 75-300mm -- either a clean used one if you can find it, or better yet, the MKll when it comes out.

I had great success using my 75-300mm on my E-PL2, and while it is not a low light champ, it is a small, very sharp, fast focusing, and excellent reach telephoto zoom.

Below are just a few shots from that lens on my E-PL2 -- it's a good combo in any decent light.

God Bless,

Greg
