Danny,

Not sure you got my drift on all this. I was just wondering if Olympus made decent lenses that would not break the bank. Top quality lenses often do cost too much(for me). But once in a while, a really decent lens comes out that is also economical. I was asking if there are any 200mm to 300mm tele lenses for my E-pl2 that quality as one of these "well kept secrets"?

The Oly m4/3 75-300 was a bank breaker - at least for what it is.  The newly announced version is less expensive.  If the new version is good, then it would seem like a nice lens to have.

Some are making do with the 4/3 Oly 70-300 which is reasonably quality for the price.  But the focus on m4/3 is dependent on a brief rack of the lens, it's probably only good for relatively static subjects.  Poor focus targets will result in it doing some serious hunting and most likely give-up.  It tends to hunt even more in low light.  I have this lens, and it good conditions it's OK, but otherwise is more pleasant to use the 40-150 and avoid the frustrating hunts.

The 40-150 is really a very nice lens, snappy focuser, and sharp enough to do a bit of cropping.
