I've decided to bite the bullet and buy a  17-55 2.8. I need the speed for shooting dark performances, and the constant aperture is essentials for me  when shooting video.

The lens is expensive, over $1000. There are a few local Craigslist offered at 700-750. I've never bought a used lens before.  Is it worth the risk for a $300 savings?
