First off, I don't have an Olympus camera. But I assume it has a manual focus assist feature similar to my Panasonic GH3, where it magnifies a portion of the image so you can easily see if things are in focus or not. If so, then the answer to your question will depend on what kind of photography you do. I am primarily a landscape photographer. I have an Olympus 50-200mm 4/3 lens (note, not micro 4/3). It is one of my favorite lenses. It is extreamly sharp at all zooms. I have little problem manually focusing the lens. However, if I was shooting birds or sports, forget it. There is no way to manually keep a long lens in focus on something moving very much.
