I don't see where being "pocketable" was even mentioned at all, except by you.

Hi all,

So, after having been guided through alternatives in the beginners forum I bought a NEX-6 with the 16/50 kit lens. Over all I am very happy with it - I love the grip, and am satisfied with it's performance in low light indoors - but I have a nagging feeling that it is just a tad too bulky for me to bring along as often as I would wish. I am afraid it could start to collect dust at home within a few months and kill my ambitions to document my everyday life. And since I have the opportunity to return it for something else I am again pondering the alternatives. Can the DPreview community maybe help me out again?

I am an amateur so I am not in the habit of lugging cameras along with me. So pancake/pancake zoom for everyday is the way forward for me, but I also want to slap a telephoto lens on it when I am travelling so the obviously pocketable candidate RX100 is out I am afraid.

So I started looking at m4/3s. I first looked at the GX1 but then heard about the blurry images problems with the new PZ14-42 and yesterday I feel like I had a eureka moment: I watched a youtube review of the Oly E-PL5 and the guy said it has actually has the same sensor as the OMD and is virtually a more pocketable version of the OMD. And as one of the reasons I went for the NEX-6 was it's high ISO low light capability I am thinking the PL5 should be on par in that respect while being smaller.

Apart from the ergonomics difference, do you NEX-users have anything to say about the comparison NEX-6 and Oly E-PL5 ? Is it a valid comparison? Are they on par with each other or have I misunderstood something?

As always, I am very grateful for your opinons.

/g
