I was afraid that might be the case, although I was hoping that those flash tubes might last longer.

However, I don't think the flashtube from 250R will fit in 500Pro monolight, because 250R has two "pins" (don't know the right word in English) and 500Pro has three. Or, am I wrong?

I've never tried replacing the flashtubes myself. Is it just as simple as it sounds: untie the wire, pull the tube out, put new one in, tie the wire back?

One more thing, if you don't mind me asking.

I know that the flashtube for 500Pro is much faster (1/2900) than the regular one (1/900) with two "pins", and therefore more expensive. Is it possible to use the standard one (two "pins") instead of that one, if I cannot find it anywhere locally? Also, does it have to be Bowens make, or I can use some alternative brand (for Bowens)?
