RAW processing

The short answer to your question is yes, probably.  RAW is more than dumping the voltages from the sensor readout into a file.  This question has spawned countless hours of argument, discussion and everything in between.  Unfortunately, the manufacturers are less than forthcoming about exactly what they do.

How technical do you want to go?  The folks at Raw Lib start from the bottom up.  A slightly (very slightly) less technical approach from the same people, Raw Digger is lots of fun.
