Thought on Macro Filter/Lens for beginner?

It's an excellent lens and would pair well with your 55-250.  The other option here would be the Canon 250D (it's 1/2 the power of the Raynox, but it's slightly sharper and gives you more working distance).  Both yield amazing results.
