I agree and like I said before, I didn't pick up 70-300G, but I went for PS 70-300. Usually, the autofocus noise of that tamy isn't very noticeable especially when there are ambient sounds around (outdoors).
I would appreciate a quite lens when shooting indoors video or in calm places. I'll think about your external mic solution. Anyway, that aspect maybe important, but not decisive.
