Software solutions, for perspective distortion, scale parts of the image and require cropping. So, you have to shoot wider than you want the final image and then crop the skewed edges. As a result, you lose resolution.
Point taken - that is why my reply said "slightly fewer MP after post processing than using a T&S lens to take the image, but you do not loose autofocus".
