Ah, right, thanks Richard, I should have remembered. Someone mentioned that. I have to say I still think the bayonet is superior in ease of use and security.

No, actually the thumbscrew locks they use on these are superior units. once locked, the hood is literally part of the lens. I grip the lens (12, 17 and 75) by the hood when mounting and removing it. They definitely are going nowhere once locked on.

Hi Greg, do the screws damage the coating on the lens? And do they reverse for compact storage? I don't have one for my 17 yet and was wondering if I am going to have any joy with the hood.
