Re: Cameras to use with Leica Glass

I have a number of Leica and other rangefinder lenses on two different cameras, the Sony NEX-7 and the Ricoh GXR (with M mount module).
Be careful if you want to use wide angle lenses. Neither Leica nor GXR bodies have an anti-aliasing filter, and for good reason. I found that I had to remove th AA filter from the NEX-7 in order to bring the sharpness of wide angle images up to those of the GXR. In so doing, I removed a color filter of some sort from the NEX-7 and now have to do a custom color balance prior to shooting or correct in post.
Also, you will be manually focusing and none of these cameras have a manual focusing aid that is as quick and useful as either manual focusing through a film SLR or the rangefinder of a Leica.
That said, the images are worth it if you do not need to work fast.
