Dear Paul,

I have both (the FZ 150 as Leica V Lux 3)

My family likes the IQ of the FZ150 better, I prefer FZ 28.

In good light the FZ has the better color, everything looks so "right", like "film"

The FZ 150 is technically better, better ISO. They have different sensors (FZ 28 a CCD, the FZ 150 CMOS).

I would guess that the FZ 150 is better with moving subjects

I relied on the Fz 28 for quite a while, sometimes looking back at the images: maybe I as a photographer was never better than with this small bridge camera.

Combined their weight is less than a DSLR with zoom: take both and change every day! Afterwards you know yourself what you like more.

This trip is probably a one time thing and I won't take the V1 kit and the FZ28. For the most enjoyable time at the park, a one piece solution is probably best. Thank you for the detailed response.
