difference between AF on liveview vs. EVF

Guess I goofed a bit here. What I meant to OP was once you engage focus magnification you effectively let main sensor display what final image will look like, focused or not. Usually you can see right away if your PDAF is correct or not, peaking is another quick way to assist you determine if you achieved accurate focus with or without magnification. I use this method all the time to check if my lens has any front/back focus issue.
