You absolutely sure about that? In focus magnify you're in MF mode. Plus I don't think SLTs use CDAF at all.

SLT cameras may not use CDAF to achieve focus lock but they sure have the capability of display what's in focus what's not. Peaking and magnification are two ways of assisting manual focus.
