Are crop sensors still relevant or should I just go FX in cropped mode

Yes, as allothernamestaken had said, I do the same thing with my D800. I shoot FF and crop if needed. It is the same and with the D800 it is an 18MP DX. I used to have the 7D ald always loved the crop sensor cameras for the extra reach it gave me but was always jealous for the quality of the FF bodies which is why I switched over to Nikon with the D800. It is the first camera that really had enough pixels to give me both bodies I wanted in one body. Love it and am very happy.
