Deciding Between two cameras

D300 w/ 25k Shuuter Count

&

D7000 w/ 144 Shutter count

I primarily shoot family photos, wedding here and there, I also shoot the family at theme parks and in the park.  An ocassional action shot.  but nothing major (kids running around).  I was wondering what camera between the D300 and D7000 would be best suited for this style of shooting.

I do not have any older lenses or shall i say that all my lenses are AF.  I upgraded from a D70.  The D7000 seems to be a closer match in terms of user controls and operation.  I am having to read the manual to be able to operate the D300, but I dont want that to be a reason not to keep it.

Any suggestions ?
