difference between AF on liveview vs. EVF

I've got an a57 is there a difference between the way the AF works between the liveview and he EVF?

The reason i ask, this evening i was playing around with the camera, in poor light indoors, i began focusing on a fixed point and shooting - after a couple of shots flicking back and forth, i realized my EVF focus is off a little (it seems to back focus) but my liveview was spot on. Sure i'd just made a mistake, i retook the shame shot 7-8 times with the liveview vs the EVF - everyone on my EVF was backfocused, but was good with the liveview. Is this possible? Could there be something in the way the focus that would favor the liveview in low light scenario's? Or all scenarios? I'd have thought the EVF would be more accurate if anything...

Anyone have any insight on this??
