Recent Experience with Nikon Product Service (phone) regarding D600 Sensor Problem

I've had this camera for 1 day and already have spots on the sensor.  To be fair I didn't do the take picture of a white wall nonsense, I used the camera as I would everyday and found them when taking pictures of a pool table.

Nikon over the phone offered free shipping to send it in for service.  They would not acknowledge a problem or a permanent fix, just that they would return it to factory working standards...whatever that means.  They are backed up (probably from this camera) and the wait time is 3 weeks.  After, there is no guarantee that the problem doesn't come back.  Since I won't be able to return my camera to B&H at that point, I'm going to skip service, return the camera, and look into other models.  So unfortunate to get rid of such a great piece of equipment after spending so much money.
