Okay, you got me there, J, but how much trouble is it to set up the camera with a couple of tweaks and batch convert in ViewNX? Picture Control Portrait:
I dunno - its not something I've done or ever intend to do! The prob with a sample like this is that its a beautiful model with professional lighting. I bet the worst jpg settings would still look pretty good providing the basic wb is there abouts!

Lightroom is no more work than downloading from the camera, which has to be done anyway. But I suppose that's a different topic :^)
I'm with you all the way there. If a shot is worth taking its worth processing to me. I find it easier to process raw images than sort out the minutia in camera, big events (weddings) with lots of shots get the lightroom treatment for most. Individual shots, such as landscapes, are PS all the way.
But I can see why someone wouldn't want to get involved with computers. I know my dad would rather stick pins in his eyes than touch a keyboard.

That's exactly how my dad is, he knows NOTHING about computers, i think Nikon did forget about all those people
My dad once offered to buy a DSLR from me so that I could upgrade, but I couldn't sell it to him. Although he knows cameras and introduced me to the sport many years ago, there's no way he's ever going to get comfortable with computers (almost 80!) and I'd hate to have him have a good camera and be disappointed with what he did with it. He's now bought a panny point and shoot, purely on the basis that it had a Leica lens, and he's chuffed with the output. The camera has limitations, so he knows he's not going to produce endless stunners and can happily blame the shortcomings of the camera when appropriate. My mum downloads his images for him!
Hopefully, your dad is that bit younger and is prepared to do enough to get the results.
