I have more questions than answers, but based on my beginners experience with D800 and NEX5n I have to say It's very hard to get good sound with the D800. I have a Sony ECM-CG50 external mike but it doesn't beat the NEX on board mikes.
And it's not about the zoom/focus noise - the NEX is silent and the D800 is awful with my lenses - I would expect D800 to be noisy and I've got workarounds for that. No, it's the background hiss with the D800, and the crystal clear sound of the NEX.I wouldn't spend a lot of time and money to get proper audio with D800 - just my take.| Post (hide subjects) | Posted by | When | |
