I always enjoy your though provoking posts.

Camera choices are personal and they depend on how you plan to use it.

For me, I don't think there is just one camera -  A back injury make me reluctant to carry too much gear. So my ideal camera would be Leica CL (which I have on my mantle) with interchangeable lens.

Short of that camera, I previously took the X1 with me everywhere and found that I got shots that I would never have taken with my cell phone.  The RX1 give crisp, great IQ shots -so for a carry all the time camera it is great.

Right now, my DSLR choice is Canon D6 for Landscape - I like the ergonomics and lay out of the controls.  Very happy with the IQ, but I am still undecided about the 24-105. Anxious to hear your thoughts on the D6 with 24-70, 2.8.
