Need Advice. X-E1 or OMD EM5 as FIRST SERIOUS CAMERA to learn Photography?

Your in the right forum.  dont listen to Rattymouse, he always seem to be in a bad mood.  ( but I still think he´s not so bad guy ;-).

I think it comes down to choosing simplicity vs AF speed.   My take would be to go for the Fuji bc all the controls are there where you need them in a very logical way.  But if fast good AF is important then the OMD is a fine camera to.

I have had many SLR cameras , both nikon and canon,  I switched to OMD from the nikon to get a light travel system.  Then I wasnt fully satisfied with its image quality ( I´m a pixel peeper at heart ) and switched again to the FUJI X E1

I really like the fuji ,  AF is not important to me but the camera is a pleasure to use manually and its image quality is very very good.

The reason I liked Nikon better than canon was the controls of the Nikon I felt it was more easy to operate the camera ,  I liked the button layout on the nikon better.  Same things go for me regarding the OMD vs FUJI.

Just my take.
