This would have been the same: the 25/ 1,8 Biogon (which I don't know) would have been in competition with Fuji's own forthcoming 23/1,4 (probably an excellent lens) and the 27/2,8 Pancake.
The only way Zeiss might win over a good number of buyers is through world- class (fast) lenses that Fuji has not yet released and did not put on their roadmap. In the DSLR world the Zeiss ZF/ ZA lenses filled a big niche that was high quality wide angle lenses and other fast high quality primes, like the gorgeous 100mm Makro Planar.
