Anyone still use DPP in combination with Lightroom?
Does DPP still produce larger files? Last time I used DPP, JPG that came out from DPP was 20-40% larger in size compared to JPGs coming out of Lightoom.
Why is that?
Jpeg file size depends on the level of compression applied. Most PP packages allow you to set varying levels of compression to balance file size vs image quality. Check the export settings for both packages and you will almost certainly find that the one producing the smaller files is applying a higher compression level when saving/exporting the jpeg.
