Good advice from JLim! I'm still not that great but have learned over the years and will continue to learn more. One of my problems is I cannot "see" the photo before I make it and I'm not very conceptual. I've gone from Rebel XT > 5D > 30D > 1DM3 (SOLD IT) > 40D > 7D and now 6D. I still have those cameras and I guess what I enjoy about the newer cameras are the features. When we went on a cruise to Greece & Turkey in 2006 with the XT and Tamron super zoom (only lens I had), I shot JPEG and didn't know about RAW. The photos are amazingly good considering the lens, low pixel count and JPEG.

I'm not saying I don't enjoy the result I get with my newer cameras--- I do. I've learned a lot by attending field and conference-room workshops, reading photo magazines and using this forum.

I chose the 6D not as much because of it's price as much as not being able to justify the extra $1200 extra for the 5D3. I've had the 6D for a little over a week and love it's high ISO results. I won't ever use WiFI but will use GPS. You won't believe how many times I could have used GPS for some of my trips in the western US. I'd really consider the 6D and 24-105 (which I got with the 5D). I also love the 7D.

I'll close with the words of a pro shooter that has spoken at our camera club a couple of times--- practice, practice, practice.

Good luck,

Kent
