I started out with the AMD Radeon 7970 / Catalyst 12.x with my new build and it about drove me nuts crashing right in the middle of editing 500mb to 1gb files over and over. No helpe from AMD. So I replace it with the EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX680 4GB card so far it's working great. Every thing runs cool and quite. Good luck with your choice.
