The MKE 600 is a great choice for DSLR if you have an impedance transformer. DSLR's have mini-plug mic inputs, and professional microphones like the MKE 600 have three-pin XLR connectors. There is a difference in impedance between the small mini-plug jack on the camera, and the large XLR connector on the mic, and this needs to be corrected with an impedance transformer. Impedance transformers are built into XLR adapter boxes (which are made by companies like Beachtek and juciedLink), but they're also built into special cables, like the Hosa MIT-156:
