D 300(s)

I am getting tired of waiting for the fabled Nikon D 400.  I have been thinking of getting a used Nikon D 300 or D 300s.  I currently have a Nikon D 80.  The D 300 and D 300s score higher on DXOMARK by about 10 points.  Is the difference in IQ worth switching to one of these or a wash?

The D 300s scores slightly higher than the D 300 for some reason.  Was the sensor tweaked by Nikon.  I'm not sure I care about the video of the s .  The higher LCD screen on the s model may be worth it though.
