Yes, as I stated it is the most popular. But I think it is also pointless. If I had a SLR I would put on it a 50MM prime and use my feet and end up with better quality then someone with the zoom with only a small step or two here or there. IMHO the standard zoom is largely a crutch. It is certainly no where near as good as what you can get a a nice prime or two and it can't be said to be needed near as much as a zoom in the range of 70-200 or 70-300 which can't be compensated for with your feet most of the time. that 50mm prime would of course be replaced with a 80 or 100 for portraits and with a wider angle for landscapes.

Much as I hate to mention him because I don't agree with much of what he puts on his site, it is worth stating that Ken Rockwell expressed the same thought as have several other pro photographers in the Nikon and Canon forums here.
